Simon Kemp

Simon Kemp is a global authority on how people use the internet.

Every year, millions of people in more than 230 countries read his widely acclaimed Global Digital Reports, and he advises the world’s top brands, investment banks, governments, startups, and NGOs on the latest digital trends.

Simon’s work

Simon is the founder and CEO of Kepios, an advisory firm that helps organisations all over the world make sense of what people are really doing online.

He’s also the chief analyst at DataReportal, an online collection of thousands of resources that explore evolving digital behaviours.

Over the past 20 years, Simon has worked with many of the world’s most admired companies, including Unilever, Google, Coca-Cola, Intel, SAP, Nestlé, and Diageo, and he continues to advise a wide range of clients across various industries and geographies.

Simon also presents regular briefings on the latest digital trends for some of the world’s top investment banks and VCs, and frequently delivers guest lectures for leading universities and executive coaching organisations around the world.

Previous experience

Prior to founding Kepios, Simon launched We Are Social in Asia, going on to become the agency’s Regional Managing Partner during its acquisition by BlueFocus.

Before We Are Social, Simon worked as a strategist with a number of leading advertising agencies around APAC, including BBH, Universal McCann, and Starcom Mediavest.

Simon began his career with Accenture in London, where he helped to build the ecommerce operations of a leading supermarket chain.

After Accenture, Simon honed his marketing skills at Ascension, a boutique strategy consultancy that built global marketing frameworks for companies including Unilever and InBev.

Simon graduated from the University of Strathclyde with First Class Honours in Marketing and Modern Languages, and was awarded the Chartered Institute of Marketing Prize.

After hours

Outside of work, Simon is a wannabe music producer and DJ, and he also organises regular tasting events for the Singapore Whisky Society.
